Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride

Triumph will be the official motorcycle sponsor for the next Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride as the suitably attired charitable phenomenon expands further across the globe.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a themed rideout to raise awareness and funds for two male centred charitable causes. Founder Mark Hawwa hit upon the inspiration for the theme in 2012, when he saw a photo of Don Draper from TV show Mad Men sitting on a classic bike whilst wearing a suit. Triumph decided that the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride captures everything to be celebrated about motorcycling, and has supported the event for a number of years, seeing DGR grow to a global event in the process.

Where does it take place?

Since its inception DGR has spread to more countries, cities and towns each year. In 2016, more than 56,000 smartly-dressed riders took to their classic and vintage motorcycles for rideouts in 500 cities across 90 countries. All of the events helped to raise awareness and funds for DGR’s two chosen causes, prostate cancer research and male suicide prevention.

How are Triumph involved?

Aside from supporting the ride through engaging with the global community of Triumph modern classic fans and riders, there’s also a special edition DGR Digby Riding Jacket available from Triumph dealers, where every jacket purchased results in a donation being made to the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, adding to the juggernaut of gentlemanly giving.
